During the 2026 Police Week celebrations, the Charlotte business community once again demonstrated its unwavering support for the men and women of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD), honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice while uplifting those who continue to serve.

Led by Evans General Contractors, local companies across the region came together in meaningful ways to support this year’s events. For the fourth consecutive year, Evans and its Charlotte team played a key role in recognizing first responders during National Police Week, reinforcing a continued commitment to public safety and community partnership.

Police Week in Charlotte included memorial tributes, recognition ceremonies, and employee engagement activities, each serving as a reminder of the courage and dedication of CMPD officers. These events not only honored fallen heroes but also celebrated the ongoing service of officers who carry forward their legacy each day.

Under the leadership of Chief Estella D. Patterson, CMPD continues to emphasize officer wellness, community trust, and collaborative partnerships as essential pillars of public safety. Her leadership underscores the importance of unity between law enforcement and the community they serve, recognizing that strong partnerships are critical to building a safer Charlotte. The weeklong celebration included a fitness challenge- with lunch provided by local food trucks, followed by an awards ceremony that celebrated 147 employees. The week ended with some competitive competition over cornhole and kickball, as on Friday, we honored the officers and paid the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty at the Mecklenburg County Peace Officer Memorial Ceremony.

The support shown by Evans General Contractors and other local businesses reflects a broader commitment across Charlotte, one that honors sacrifice, supports service, and strengthens the bond between the private sector and public safety. As the city continues to grow, these partnerships remain vital in ensuring that those who protect and serve are never forgotten and always supported.
