Tammy Pippen is the Assistant Director of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, bringing over 18 years of leadership in law enforcement strategy, human resources, and organizational development. She oversees CMPD’s HR operations, leading efforts in recruitment processes, employee engagement, and professional development. Her leadership has driven major improvements in workforce culture, wellness, and retention. Tammy previously served as Executive Director of the North Carolina Police Executives Association, where she expanded membership and modernized training initiatives. Her earlier roles include creating and leading planning and research at the Fayetteville Police Department and serving with the NC Department of Public Safety. She holds a Master of Public Administration, is a Duke-certified HR leader, and a participant in Yale’s Women’s Leadership Program and the Global International Leadership Exchange. Tammy is also a published author and the recipient of multiple awards for excellence in law enforcement.
